William (Bill) Harold Blankenship

William (Bill) Harold Blankenship, 85, of Garland, TX, formally of Narrows, VA., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 5, 2024.  He was born on May 20, 1938, in Narrows, VA and was the son of the late Omie Walter Blankenship and Claire Vaugh Blankenship.  Bill was a 1956 graduate of Narrows High School.  Bill Went on to serve his county in the United States Marines Corps.  His time with the USMC took him all over the world.  After returning home from his military service, he worked until he retired in Garland, TX.  Left to cherish his precious memory are two daughters; Alisa Stull and ET of Narrows, and Melissa Cloer and Jimmy of Garland, TX; two sons, Michael Blankenship of Garland, TX, and Christopher Blankenship of Narrows; six grandchildren, Barndon Stull, Taska Trenar, Elijah Knoetze, Marayka Knoetze, Nikki Roberts, Jordon Cloer; five great grandchildren; Addalyn, Ellieana, Mason, Lucas and Hudson.  Several very special family and friends; Basil Burton and Elden Meadows.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2pm at the Church of God, 805 Henson Ave., Pearisburg, Va., with Pastor Doug Duncan officiating with burial following at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour before the service, from 1 – 2pm.  The family is being served by Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442; online at riffefuneralservice.com.
