Wanda (Blankenship) Nelson

Wanda Blankenship Nelson, 90 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  Wanda was born on February 21, 1931 in Pearisburg and was a daughter of the late Harry Blankenship and Nettie Blankenship Williams.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Perdue and Bobby Williams and two sisters, Eva Candler and Ilene McKinney.  Wanda dedicated her life to nursing and taking care of others. She loved her hobbies which included travel, crocheting, her flowers and plants , doing word searches, dancing, and loved to shop    Also she had Nieces and nephews.  She is survived by one son, Dalton L. Meredith (Earlene) of Pearisburg, two daughters, Marlene Nettie Burkholder of Manassas, Judy Ann Gilbert (Brian) of Alexandria, seven grandchildren, Bobby George, Dawn Philpott, Emily Lewis, Lori Price, Michelle Higgs, Tyler Gilbert, Christopher Lewis, many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
