Perry Alden Wheeler, 85 of Narrows, passed away Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek.
A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on December 2, 1932 and was the son of the late Egbert Terrell Wheeler and Ethel Wilburn Wheeler. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bradley Wheeler; three brothers, Randall, Allen and Virgil Wheeler; and two sisters, Georgia Turner and Marie Conley.
He was a retired employee of Standard Lime in Kimballton, where he worked in maintenance as a welder. Perry loved hunting, gardening, and riding through the mountains to his cabin. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Left to cherish his memory are five brothers, Bill and Mary Wheeler, Curtis and Juanita Wheeler, Harold and Judy Wheeler, Robert and Anna Wheeler, and Roger and Carmen Wheeler; a special nephew who was like a brother, Danny Buckland and wife Pat of Narrows; a sister, Shirley Parcell and husband Roy of Narrows; a special niece, Carol Layman (whom they raised); several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in the Conley-Wheeler Cemetery in the Wolf Creek Community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
