Mildred Irene (Wiley) Neel

Mildred Irene Wiley Neel, 98 of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2023, at home.  Mildred was born on May 28, 1924, in Pearisburg, VA and was a daughter of the late Lewis Allen Wiley and Mayfield Inez Davis Wiley.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rowena Maxine Buckland, a grandson, Matthew Neel, a sister, Doris Davis and 2 brothers, Sonny and Jimmy Wiley.  Mildred was of the Christian faith.  She loved to travel, visiting all 50 states.  She was an avid needle craftsman, spending many hours creating many quilts, sweaters and doilies.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Loretta Buckland Ellison (Gary) of Bozoo, WV, Teresa Fletcher (Franklin) of Pearisburg, 3 sons, Lewis Buckland (Dehronda) of Bozoo, WV, Kenneth Buckland (Mary Jane) of Bozoo, WV, Daniel “Boone” Neel of Salem, 3 sisters, Joann, Kaye and Susan, 6 grandchildren, Jason Fisher, Jeremy Buckland, Jennifer Nunley, Kara Martin, Chance Fletcher, Hollie Fletcher and 6 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 27, 2023, at 12pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Larry Dyer and Pastor Blake Bivens officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 11 – 12.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at riffesfuneralservice.com.
