Michael Hoge McGinley

Michael Hoge McGinley, 78, of Marietta, GA was peacefully reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Jo, on March 23, 2026.

Born on July 23, 1947, in Bluefield WV, Michael was the son of the late Ernest Everett McGinley and Catherine Elizabeth Bunch. He was raised in Narrows VA and remained proud of his roots throughout his life. A devoted alumnus of Virginia Tech, Michael earned a degree in forestry, which he applied in building his own landscaping business during the 1970s and 1980s. He later continued his career in the lawn care industry, working with companies throughout the Atlanta area.

Michael was a lifelong golfer and an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for football. Above all, he was a devoted family man whose kindness, integrity, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his siblings, Patton McGinley, Ann Muncy, and Ernest McGinley; his daughter, Meghan Belle McGinley; his son, Mike H. McGinley; his daughter-in-law, Allison G. McGinley; and his cherished grandson, Isaac Michael McGinley.

Michael will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, a man of honor, and a steady source of strength and support for his family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg VA at noon on April 10, 2026. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows VA.
