Melvin Paul Perkins, 70, Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.  Paul was born on August 8, 1953, in Pearisburg and was a son of the late Earnest Perkins and Hattie Maybell Blankenship Perkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Wilson Perkins and 2 sisters, Maggie Martin and Lucille Martin

Paul was a life-long resident of Narrows, graduating from Narrows High School in 1974.  He was an employee of Narrows Quick Lube.  His favorite pastime was spent with his family and grandkids and enjoying the outdoors.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife 47 years, Susan Marie Estep Perkins of Narrows, 2 daughters, Samantha “Nikki” McCraw (Marcus) of Newport, Kimberly “Kimmie” Perkins (Fiancé Dillon) of Pearisburg, 1 son, Michael Paul Perkins of Narrows and 6 grandchildren, Riley, Baylee, Nova, Kaydyn, Nicole and Allie.  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 11am at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with pastor Rocky Flinchum officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday evening from 5 – 7 pm.  The family request donations be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
