Melanie Chambers LaFon, 68, of Narrows, VA entered into eternal peace on April 20, 2015.
Melanie was born on September 19, 1946, a daughter of the late Paul and Doris Chambers. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Smith.
She was a graduate of Narrows High School Class of 1964 and went on to become a graduate of Roanoke School of Nursing.
Melanie was a loving mother to her children, Noah LaFon, Jarrod and Mandy LaFon, Shannon and Roger Riley, and Adam LaFon; and also a proud and caring Gran for her two granddaughters Jordyn LaFon and Kaia LaFon. She also leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her siblings, Jerry and Eileen Chambers, Sabrina Chambers and Charles Sexton, and Clark and Linda Chambers; a brother-in-law, Bud Smith; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Melanie was also a devoted Air Force wife to her ex-husband Lewis LaFon and doting daughter-in-law to Edna Shell and the late Noble Shell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24th, 2015 at 2 PM at First United Methodist Church in Narrows with Rev. Jason Stubblefield officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
