Mary Elizabeth (Lucas) Wheeler

Mary Elizabeth Lucas Wheeler, 92 of Narrows, VA., went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA.  Mary was born on December 8, 1930, in Narrows, VA., and was a daughter of the late Walter Harrison Lucas and Mennie Leona Davis Lucas.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Wheeler, son, Calvin Wayne Wheeler and numerous brothers and sisters.

Mary loved to work in her flower beds raising many different kinds of flowers. 

Mary is survived by son, Thomas E. Wheeler (Barbara) of Max Meadows, grandchildren, Philip Edward Wheeler (Kaye) of Riner, Crystal Wheeler of Roanoke, 2 great grandchildren, Blaine Wheeler (Jordan), Bella Wheeler, 2 great great grandchildren, Kayden and Kylie, 2 step grandchildren, Karen McGrath and Mark Dickerson (Alex), 4 step great grandchildren, Madeline, Katherine, Arie and Rafe, 3 brothers, Jerry Lucas (Bonnie) of Wytheville, Gary Lucas (Dreama) of Meadows of Dan, Donnie Lucas (Vickie) of Christiansburg and 1 sister, Beverly Young (Ronnie) of Riner.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 2:30pm at the Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg, VA. with the Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
