Lottie Jean Harris Obituary

Lottie Jean Harris, 82 of Narrows, passed away Thursday, November 13th, 2014.

She was born in Giles County on December 19th, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Charlie Epling and Safrona Mary Jane Elmore Epling. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Walter Taylor; four sisters, Callie Sarver, Sadie Rice, Ruby Whitt, "Mat" Songer; and three brothers, Virgil Epling, Clarence Epling, and Millard Epling.

Jean was known for her wonderful cooking, and loved canning vegetables from her garden. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, George Harris; a daughter, Pamela Shrader and husband Darrell of Christiansburg; a son, Greg Taylor and wife Jackie of Salem; two stepdaughters, Kitty Tolley and Kathy Arnold, both of Saltville, Virginia; three grandchildren, Dawn Sutphin and husband Joel of Christiansburg, Kim Jones and husband Travis of Christiansburg, Colton Taylor of Salem; three great-grandsons, Austin Sutphin, Tristan Sutphin, and Hunter Jones; one step-grandson, Evan Tolley of Charleston, South Carolina; a step-great granddaughter, Haley Tolley; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17th, 2014 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Sunday from 5 to 7 PM.
