Loetta Jewell (Southern) Ferguson

Loetta Jewell Southern Ferguson, 89 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home.  Loetta was born on July 5, 1933, in Princeton, WV and was a daughter of the late Louden W. Southern and Nora Mae Griffith Southern.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband 57 years, Charles Robert Ferguson, son, Clay Patrick Ferguson, sister, Opal Vass, 2 brothers, Glenn Southern and Jerry Southern.  Jewell grew up in Athens, WV and lived the majority of her life in Narrows.  She was a member of Wayside Baptist Mission and retired from Hercules, Radford Army Ammunition Plant.  Her main love in life was the Lord and her family.  She always enjoyed taking care of her family and helping others in need.  She was always a caregiver.  She loved being outdoors taking care of her yard and animals.  She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Perdue (Rodney) of Narrows, seven grandchildren, Miranda Dunn, Eric Ferguson, Kayla Evans, Tiffany Sublett, Josh Vaughan, C.J. Ferguson, Nolan Ferguson and thirteen great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Jerry Hagerman officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 – 8 pm.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
