Leroy Eugene Hilsmier

Leroy Eugene Hilsmier, 81 of Narrows, VA departed this life, and entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA.  Leroy was born on July 8, 1939 in Yoder, IN and was a son of the late Loyal E. Hilsmier and Hazel Marion Kinerk Hilsmier.  Leroy was a veteran of the Army National Guard.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Spotsylvania County, VA.  He loved gardening, fishing and the company of his family and friends.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Jeanne McWilliams Hilsmier of Narrows, 3 sons, Michael E. Hilsmier, Mark E. Hilsmier, Matthew E. Hilsmier, 1 step-son, David Lutz of Venice, FL, 1 step-daughter, Shari Bolding of Mt. Carmel, IL, 1 brother, Jerry Hilsmier of Petersburg, MI, two sisters, Judy Steidinger of Chatsworth, IL, Lois Northrup of Irvine, CA, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A Celebration of Life will be held, Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 7 pm at the home of Rusty and Terri Patteson at 2878 Old Wolf Creek Rd.
