Kristy Ann (Goodman) Brooks

Kristy Ann Goodman Brooks, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, VA. Formerly of Huber Heights, OH, Kristy was born on September 8, 1956, in Dayton, OH to the late James Edward Goodman and Betty Lou Fannin Goodman. Always introducing herself as “Kristy with a K,” she grew up on Mahler Drive in Huber Heights where she made lifelong friends who still call themselves “the Mahler Mob.” She was always a fun-loving person who lived life to the fullest. Always very social and often the life of the party, Kristy possessed a keen sense of humor. And she loved being different . Kristy loved being a phlebotomist, often calling herself a “vampire.” She was a faithful viewer of “Survivor” – all 46 seasons – which she always watched while talking on the phone with her friend. She was an avid reader, a collector of unique treasures, and she loved beautiful jewelry. But, more than anything else, she loved family. Kristy was devoted to her Mom and Dad and sister Dana, but her daughter Olivia was the light of her life. She adored her four grandchildren more than anything in this world. She also adored her twin niece and nephew. Her signature gift to all of them were $2 bills on every holiday and birthday, which she always signed and dated. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord and was a strong prayer warrior throughout her life. We know that she is happy in the embrace of heaven where she once again was united with her parents who she greatly missed. Kristy always loved cats and dogs, so you are welcome to make a donation in her memory to the ASPCA, or your local animal shelter or rescue. She is survived by her daughter, Olivia A. Anton (Jay) of Narrows, VA, her grandchildren, Jay Anton, Jr., James Anton, Hannah Anton, Harlan Anton, her sister, Dana L. Goodman Jordan (Joseph) of Gainesville, VA, her nephew, Tate Jordan and her niece, Reese Jordan. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2pm at the Givens-Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Jay Smith officiating . The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 1- 2 pm.
