James “Jay” Elridge Harless, 64 of Rich Creek, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home.  Jay was born on January 29, 1961, in Atlanta, GA and was a son of the late William Jackson Harless and Wilma Jean Ferguson Harless.   

Jay was a 1979 graduate of Narrows High School (Green Wave) and he was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Deedee Lynn Bowers Harless of Rich Creek, 1 daughter, Kristen Danielle Steele (Craig) Rich Creek, 1 sister, Jackie H. Hager (Gary) Narrows, 2 nephews, Christopher Thornton (Amy) of Rich Creek, Jeffrey Bowers (Jennifer) of Pembroke and 1 niece, Lisa White (Kevin) of Pearisburg.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2pm at the Givens-Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Jerry Hagerman officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 1 – 2pm.
