James Edward Brown, 90 of Grafton WV, formerly of Rich Creek VA, passed away on Saturday December 4, 2021, in United Hospital Center Clarksburg WV. He was born December 28, 1930, in Oakvale, WV, a son to Rufus E and Eula Walls Brown. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his brother Bill Brown.  He is survived by his son Barry Edward Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Norma Lambert Brown, James was proceeded in death by his siblings Rufus Randolph Brown, Everett Eugene Brown, Evelyn Brown French, and William “Bill” Brown.  Jim retired from the Appalachian Power Plant in Rich Creek Va., after 50 years of employment. He was also a veteran of the Army and served time overseas in Korea during the Korean War.  Due to the risks of COVID, Friends and family are welcome at the graveside service on Monday December 13, 2021, at Birchlawn Cemetery at 11:00 am.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, VA, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
