Jack Michael Bowles, Sr., 60 of Narrows, passed away Monday, October 14th, 2013 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.

He was born in Giles County on January 29th, 1953 and was the son of Jack Harner and Evelyn Mae Smith Bowles. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Maury Bowles.

A graduate of Narrows High School, Mike was a retired employee of Bland Correctional Center. He was an avid hunter, and loved all sorts of music. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jack and Evelyn Bowles; his wife, Sandy Morris Bowles; a son, Jack Michael (Mikey) Bowles, Jr. of Narrows; two stepdaughters, Melissa and John Biggs of Narrows, Pepper Fields and Mike Crigger of Pearisburg; six grandchildren, Autumn Bowles, Lexi Biggs, Grayson Biggs, Shelby Biggs, Emma Lucas, and Sarah Lucas; a brother, Tommy and Brenda Bowles of Pearisburg; two sisters, Sarah Ann and Ray Collier of Bristol, Virginia, and Melinda and Bobby Tabor of Narrows; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including his canine companions that he dearly loved, Baby and Prissy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 12 noon until just prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Riffe's Funeral Service, Inc.; 600 Main Street; Narrows, VA 24124, to cover final expenses.
