Irene Gautier Boyd, 102, of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2024. Irene was born on September 28, 1921, in Giles County, VA and was the daughter of late Walter Lee Gautier and Eula Rose Martin Gautier. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harry Benton Boyd, stepmother, Virginia Hale Gautier, by 2 sisters Pauline Lucas and Mary Hess, 2 brothers, Russell Gautier, Raymond Gautier, half-brother, Tommy Gautier and half-sister, Joyce Kiger.

Irene was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows and a member of the Christians Women’s Fellowship.  She was a past employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows and the Narrows High School Cafeteria. 

She is survived by 1 son, Michael Andrew Boyd of Narrows, 2 granddaughters, Jessica Dimeglio (Francesco) of Baltimore, MD, Sarah Boyd of Dublin, 2 great grandchildren, Genevieve Dimeglio, Francesco Dimeglio, III, 3 half-brothers, Jimmy Gautier of Narrows, Jerry Gautier of Pembroke, Richard Gautier of Pearisburg, 3 half-sisters, Frances Epling, Lillian Hatcher of Narrows, Janice Colliins of Shawsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Stuart Davis officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service, from 1 – 2 pm.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
