Howard Edward Spicer

Howard Edward Spicer, 83 of Narrows, VA passed peacefully Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke memorial Hospital.  Howard was born in Giles County, VA on April 24, 1937.  He was a son of the late Cover Claude Spicer and Ethel Mae Whittaker Spicer.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eula Mae Christian and Geneva Frazier and his brother Roy Spicer.  He enjoyed sitting on his front porch and having people stop by to talk with him.  His hobbies included GreenWave football and watching VT Hokies football, NASCAR and westerns on television. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Mary Belcher of Rocky Gap and many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in narrows with Pastor Bill Brown and Pastor Tommy Gordon officiating with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 – 2 pm.  We will be observing COVID-19 precautions, please wear a mask and observe social distancing.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
