Emma Ruth Orey, 84, of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, after a long Illness.  Ruth was born on May 5, 1937, in Narrows (Wolf Creek), VA and was a daughter of the late Maiden Lockard Shrader and Mary Katherine Lambert Shrader.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Carson Orey, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, one grandson, Joey Blankenship and one son-in-law, Steve Meredith.  Ruth was a loving Mother and a kind and loving soul.  She loved the Lord and was a member of The New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church of Staffordsville and formerly of River of Life Ministries of Wolf Creek where she held numerous positions in the Church.  She loved to cook and have a house full of laughter for her family.  She is survived by 4 daughters, Patricia Riddle (Lawrence) of Narrows, Kathy Meredith of Pearisburg, Carol Orey of Narrows, Lisa Beaver (Billy) of Afton, 6 grandchildren, Susan, Aaron, Brian, Matthew, Jeremy, Andrea, 13 great grandchildren, sister, Betty Dalton of Dublin, brother, Tommy Aliff and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Kathy Higgs officiating with burial following in the Shrader Cemetery in Narrows (Chapel).  The family will receive friends at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Home, Saturday evening from 6 – 8pm.  The family is being served by Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, VA, (540)726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
