Emma Martin Obituary

Emma Kate Browning Martin, 82 of Narrows, Va went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at her home.  Mrs. Martin was born on February 25, 1938 in Narrows and was a daughter of the late Hubert Boyd Browning and Gwendolyn (Winnie) Coburn Browning.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mack Martin, Jr., one son, Michael Allen Martin, 2 brothers, Aaron Alfred Browning, James (Jim) Hubert Browning and one sister, Shirley L. Browning.  Mrs. Martin was a retired employee from the Celanese Corp in Narrows for over 25 years.  She loved to read, knit, crochet, needlepoint and cross stitch.  She is survived by, 2 daughters, Julie Martin of Narrows, Amy Davis (Steven) of Pembroke, one son, Frank Martin (Nora) of Amherst, Mass, one brother, Roger Browning (Betty Jo) of Narrows, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 3 – 7pm at the VFW in Narrows.  We will be observing COVID-19 precautions, please wear a mask and there will be a limit of 50 people at any one time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.  The family is being served by Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
