Elizabeth Mariah Shrader Akers, 77 of Pembroke, VA passed away at her home on Monday, January 9, 2023. Elizabeth was born on June 29, 1945, in Tazewell Co., VA and was a daughter of the late Elmore Shrader and Lucille Crabtree Shrader. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Arthur Akers and a sister, Phylis. Elizabeth loved to garden and cook. She worked briefly at the Celanese Plant in Narrows and also ran a restaurant and motel, The Rendevous in Bluff City, VA. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas A. Akers of the home, daughter Laura E. Lilly (Jerry), 5 grandchildren, Zachary C. Richardson (Hannah), Mollie Richardson, Kellie M. Haynes (Beau) of Guam, Heather D. Lilly , Katelyn R. Lilly of Galax and 10 great grandchildren. A service will be held at a later date.
