Cynthia Pillow (Powell) Guinn

Cynthia “Cindy” Pillow Powell Guinn, 69 of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home.  Cindy was born on January 23, 1953 and was a daughter of the late Stanley Smith Pillow and Betty Scott Pillow.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Allen Powell, Sr.  Cindy was a faithful employee for Carilion Clinic for 32 years, with the last 12 of those years serving in Hospice Care. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Rich Creek.  She passionately dedicated many years serving as a Committee Chair and Team Captain for Relay for Life.  Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert Vance Guinn of Norfolk; five children, Andy Collins and wife Lisa of Morgantown, West Virginia, Matthew Collins and wife Sherry of Radford, Martie Powell Miller of Pearisburg, Paul Allen Powell, Jr. and wife Susie of Hopewell, and Angie Burroughs and husband Mike of Buena Vista; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Alanna, Lyndsay, Olivia, Seth, Lauren, Hannah, Zachary and Emma; two great children, Connor and Lucas; special brother-in-law and sister-in- law, Larry and Michelle Powell of Pearisburg, step grandchildren, Tiffani, Josh, and Ethan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Life-long friend Linda Turner, and many special friends and colleagues.  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11:00am at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev. Jeremiah Murphy officiating with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 – 8pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to :Relay for Life of the NRV, c/o Anthony Woodyard, 590C North Drive, Christiansburg, VA 24073.  The family is being served by Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, VA, (540)726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
