Charles Otto Blankenship, Jr., 82 of Narrows, passed away Wednesday, November 19th, 2014.
He was born on April 17th, 1932, and was the son of the late Charles Otto Blankenship, Sr. and Mamie Davis Blankenship. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hixie Blankenship, Sidney Blankenship, Arnold Blankenship, and Homer Blankenship; and two sisters, Rachel Burns and Martha Lester.
Junior loved woodworking, farming, and loved working on his land and the homeplace he grew up in.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Beetina Stump of Peterstown, Vivian Fanning and husband Stephen of Bland, Virginia, Dale Blankenship and wife Shela of Bland, Chucky Blankenship and wife Leigh of Rich Creek; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, McArthur Blankenship and wife Janetta of Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 23rd, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Saturday from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be private.
