Buford H. Hamilton, 74 of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29th, 2014.
He was born in West Virginia on December 14th, 1939, and was the son of the late Clifford Dunn and Louella Niday Hamilton. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
A loving and caring family man, Buford was fascinated with the challenge of working on chain saws, weed-eaters, and lawn mowers to help his friends and neighbors. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories, and playing cards with friends and family.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Marie Conley Hamilton; four sons, Terry Hamilton of Clarksville, Tennessee, Gary Hamilton of Narrows, Darrell Hamilton and wife Cindy of Havelock, North Carolina, and Buford C.D. (Tater) Hamilton of Christiansburg; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Hamilton and Kenneth Hamilton, both of Narrows; a sister, Lois Joyce of North Carolina; a brother-in-law, William Conley of Narrows; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Leon O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Family Cemetery in the Wolf Creek community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
