Bayard Cecil Dalton Obituary

Bayard Cecil (Red) Dalton, 69 of Narrows passed away Friday, August 9th, 2013 at his home.

He was born in Pearisburg on November 8th, 1943, and was the son of the late Elizabeth Rowena Dalton.

A 1963 graduate of Giles High School and a U.S. Army veteran, Bayard was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 35 years of service. He loved to paint, hunt, fish, and enjoyed the outdoors.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Vickie Dalton; two sons, Kevin Dalton of St. Marys, WV, and Lance Dalton of Statesville, NC; five grandchildren, Tiffany Carter, Aaron Dalton, Dakota Croy, Katelyn Dalton and Kinleigh Dalton; and many special friends, including his caregivers with Carilion Hospice Services of the New River Valley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12th, 2013 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Wayne Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.
