Barbara Ruth Ferguson Wood, 92, of Rich Creek, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2019.  She was born in Giles County, Virginia on October 2, 1927, and was the daughter of Charlie and Ella Ferguson of Wayside, Virginia.  In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Wood, her son, James Melvin Wood, her sisters Mildred Ferguson and Margaret Long, and her brothers Linwood Ferguson and Charles Ferguson.  She is survived by three daughters:  Beverly of Columbia, South Carolina, Nada (John) of Richmond, Virginia, Lisa of Roanoke, Virginia, and son Kevin (Shirley) of Richmond, Virginia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a brother, Elmer J. Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She lived most of her life in Giles County, Virginia.  She was a longtime member of Wayside Baptist Mission and loved the Lord Jesus, always sharing her faith with others.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Givens – Riffe  Funeral Service, 600 Main Street, Narrows, VA 24124, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019.  Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wayside Baptist Mission, Narrows, Virginia.
