Barbara Lynn (Ensley) Jestes

Barbara Lynn Ensley Jestes, 72 of Banner Elk, NC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family.  Barbara was born on February 13, 1949 in Boone, NC and was a daughter of the late Dennie Virgile Ensley and Lillian Maude Church.  Besides her family, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Clyde Jerry Flynn.  Barbara was a graduate of Watauga County High School in Boone, NC.  She enjoyed watching Tar Heels Basketball games and NASCAR races.  She loved the company of her family and loved all of her little kitties.  She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.  She is survived by a daughter, Holly Lynn Jestes (Tim Sheppard) of Christiansburg, one son, Dennie Lloyd Flynn (Donna) of Mountain City, TN, and two sisters, Beverly Ensley Flynn of Rutherfordton, NC and Velva Ensley Bost (David) of Newland, NC.  As per Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
