Annie Jackson Thompson, 86 of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV.  Annie was born on July 17, 1938, in Bozoo, WV, and was a daughter of the late Harry Paul Jackson, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Mann Jackson.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lexi Thompson, 3 sisters, Bernice Skelton, Edna Wills, Judy Gardner and 2 brothers, Paul “Bud” Jackson and Lloyd B. “Peanut” Jackson.

Through the years, Annie loved playing softball, fishing, swimming and spending time at Claytor Lake.  She also enjoyed bowling, hiking, and being outdoors.  Annie was a longtime member of Glen Lyn Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Donald Thompson of Narrows, 2 sons, Gary W. Thompson (Michele) of Rich Creek, Charles Scott Thompson of Narrows, 1 daughter, Donna Johnson (Mike) of Stuarts Draft, Grandchildren include, Zachary Thompson (Jennifer), Erin Johnson, David Thompson, Kamron Johnson, Braxton Thompson (Lara), Ben Thompson (Samantha), great grandchildren, Natalie, Madison, Allie, Aubrey, Owen, Jack and Kennedy, 2 brothers, Elden “Eldie” Jackson (Doris), Donald “Donnie” Jackson (Donna), special sister-in-law, Dora Sutphin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 1pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Dan Nichols and Youth Minister, Zach Thompson officiating with burial following in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek.  The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service from 12 – 1 pm.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Country View Assisted Living for their love and care.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
