Anna Vesta (Hedrick) Gunter

Anna Vesta Hedrick Gunter, 80, of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2024.  Anna was born on June 23, 1943, in Giles County, VA and was a daughter of the late Willie Earl Hedrick and Nila Kathleen McKinney Hedrick.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lemley Edward Gunter, sister, Linda Hedrick Wickline and a brother, Willie E. Hedrick, Jr.

Anna was a longtime member of the Evangelistic Holiness Chapel in Pembroke.  Anna loved being a stay at home mother to her children as they were growing up.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, and she liked cooking and gardening.  She was loved by those around her and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by 1 son, Lemley Earl Gunter (Chau) of Pearisburg, 1 daughter, Sherri L. Burton (Brian) of York, SC., 4 grandchildren, David Gunter and Jonathan Gunter, Sara L. Burton and Jacob Burton, 1 great grandchild, Oaklynn Rhae Ciros, 2 brothers, Harold Hedrick of Vinton, Merrell Hedrick (Arlene) of Narrows, 1 sister, Lila Malacky (Michael) of Johnson City, TN and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev Rick Midkiff and Rev Stephen Sneed with burial following in the Peterstown Cemetery in Peterstown, WV.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service, from 12– 1 pm.  Memorial donations may be made to the Evangelistic Holiness Chapel in Pembroke.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
