Andrew “Andy” Roy Ernst, 41, of Narrows, VA, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home. Andy was born on June 8, 1983, in Buffalo, NY and was a son of Gretchen and Iceman Batten.
Andy was a huge fan of NASCAR, watching races on TV every single weekend, except when he was going to the tracks, including his favorite track, Bristol in TN. He had an extensive collection of NASCAR memorabilia. He loved decorating for every holiday, especially Halloween, painting, building small wood cars, playing harmonica, guitar, drums and singing. He was always a smiling, happy-go-lucky kid who loved everyone he met.
Besides his parents, he is survived by 2 brothers, Ryan James Ward of NC, Jeremy Batten of CO., 2 uncles, Brian A. Ward (Kim) of TN, David A Batten (Karla) of FL, and 3 aunts, Robin McLaurin of TX, Kathy Glazer (Nate) of FL and Florence Thibeault of VA.
As per his wishes, there will not be a service.
