Alvie "Doc" Louis Hale

Alvie “Doc” Louis Hale, 93 of Wolf Creek, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Heritage Hall Blacksburg.  Doc was born on July 2, 1930, in Giles County and was a son of the late Beatuis Hale.  Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Brenda Sentman and1 brother, Arnold Lee Hale.

Doc was an avid gardener who gave away a lot of his produce to family and friends.  He loved old time gospel music, bluegrass and watching old westerns on TV with Gunsmoke being his favorite.  He also loved spoiling kids wither they were his or the neighbor’s kids.

He is survived by 2 sons, Stephen Wade (Susan Blankenship) of Narrows, Alvin Hale (Patricia) of Blacksburg, 2 daughters, Linda Meadows of Rich Creek, Loretta Anderson of Rich Creek, 4 grandchildren, Mike Wade, Vanessa Wade, Valerie Wade, Corey Hale (Jessica) and numerous great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 1pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joseph Pack officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service from 12 – 1pm.  The family is being served by Givens - Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
