Alma Jewell Meadows Reed, 89 of Rich Creek, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022, at her home. Alma was born on March 9, 1932, in Willowton, WV, and was a daughter of the late Clarence Randolph Meadows and Alva Nita Thomas Meadows. Besides her parents she was preceded by her husband, Avery Gene Reed, one brother, Carlos Ray Meadows, two sisters, Norma Jean Meadows Thompson and Noretta Gaye Meadows Griggs. Alma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rich Creek and also attended Ballard Baptist Church. She was a retired supervisor with 29 years at the Celanese Corp in Narrows. She was an avid bowler, gardener and loved to “can”. She loved her family and was the organizer of many family events. She is survived by, two sons, William Steven Reed (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC, Timothy Alan Reed, Sr. (Linda) of Princeton, WV, five grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Sean Reed, Bryan Reed (Vanessa), Delnora Reed Acuff (Howie), Alan Reed (Cassie), eleven great grandchildren, Joshua, Sophia, Lena, Brylan, Avery, Hutson, Easton, Caelan, Bryce, Reed Acuff, Brighton, one brother, Clarence Jackson Meadows (Kathy) of Pulaski, one sister Carol Faye Meadows Thorne (Oakie) of Pearisburg, two sisters-in-law, Linda Meadows of Rich Creek, Marge Reed of Clarksville, TN, brother-in-law, Dean “T Baby” Reed of Rich Creek and many special and wonderful nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 2pm at Sunrise Memorial Garden in Rich Creek with Pastors Tony Reed and Dave Spencer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. We will be observing COVID-19 precautions, please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
