James William (Jimmy) Stowers, 72 of Narrows passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 18th, 2018.
A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on September 29th, 1945 and was the son of the late William Hicks and Ella Mae Akers Stowers.
Jimmy was a retired employee of Celanese in Narrows, where he worked as a forklift operator. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Narrows, the Wolf Creek Ruritan Club, and the Giles Saddle Club. He loved farming, horseback trail riding, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and grandchildren
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Sandy Conley Stowers; a son, James Jason Stowers and wife Sharron of Narrows; a daughter Leigh Anne Boothe and husband Mike of Ballard, WV; six grandchildren, Adrienne and Logan Ray, Austin and Samantha Boothe, William Andrew Stowers, Brandon James Stowers, Seth Michael Boothe, and Cory Matthew Boothe; one great-grandson, Remington Ray; a sister, Shirley and Clinton Richardson of Narrows; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21st, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery in the Wolf Creek Community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
